It's 2009, and following an exceptionally good year for Scottish Speedway (especially if you are an Edinburgh Monarchs fan) both clubs look set for an exciting year of racing in the British Premier League.

The current Premier League Champions - Edinburgh Scotwaste Monarchs - have once again put togther a young and exciting team of racers who have already been tipped by many to retain the Premier League title. The Monarchs race every Friday until the end of October with a start time of 7.30pm, at the Scotwaste Arena, Bathgate Road, Armadale EH48 2PD. Telephone: 01501 734404

Their fierce rivals in the west, Glasgow A-Plant Tigers look a much stronger force this year and have already taken one trophy from the Monarchs, defeated the Champions on aggregate in the Spring Trophy, ending a 9 meeting losing streak with an impressive home win, on a much improved racing circuit at Ashfield.

The Tigers race every Sunday till the end of October, with a start time of 4pm at Ashfield Stadium, 404 Hawthorn Street, Possilpark, Glasgow G22 6RU

If you only take in one meeting at either track, certainly the local derbies are something special and feature some of the most exciting racers in British and world Speedway.
