CLUB
PATRONS
GRAHAM
MABEN - The
Fulfilment Factory
An important
man behind the Speedway scene in Scotland, not
just financially with substantial sponsorships,
but also for his hard work behind the scenes
in youth development. Would love to see a Scottish
rider on the world stage but for now would be
happy to see the new crop of youngsters progress.
CHARLES
MORRIS - LiftServe
Scotland
Leaving
aside his business interests (see link), Charlie
is a real enthusiast who not only is a valuable
asset to Glasgow Speedway but is always on hand
to help out all the youth riders including son,
Kieran Morris, who is progressing well. After
a very serious illness we are delighted to see
Charlie back and taking an active interest in
the speedway once again.
RAYMOND
FOSBURY - Powercool
(Scotland) Ltd
Former
Linlithgow Lightning rider and mechanic to Kenny
McKinna and Peter Carr amongst others. Raymond
is still keenly involved when he can get time
away from his blossoming business (see link).
Still rides occasionally and is a good downhill
mountain biker. Keeps employee Adam McKinna
busy during the week and sometimes swaps roles
to mechanic for him at the weekend.
MIKE
HUNTER
A well known figure and a passionate Monarchs
supporter who likes nothing better than to see
all the Scottish clubs do well and has been
a big help to many riders. There are few people
who have dedicated so much time to Speedway
in Scotland.
ROBERT
TULLY
Father
of Dale Devil, Andrew Tully, Robert will be
quietly satisfied to see his boy's progress
over the winter and into this season, and is
another great worker behind the scenes. Instrumental
in securing AWG sponsorship for the Dale Devils
again in 2005, he is never slow to offer assistance
in the pits.
GORDON
PAIRMAN
Co-promoter at Glasgow and supporter of junior
speedway from when Jim McMillan was a novice.
Opinionated but always approachable (his words,
not ours). Gordon is a vocal supporter of youth
development in Scotland and we are delighted
to have his support.
TOM
BLACKWOOD
One of our regulars at the training sessions
showing the kids the old school method of leg
trailing around the boards. An experienced racer
who still rides long track in Europe occasionally
and who has been very encouraging since we started
up the club. One of the men in black veterans.
MOIRA
BLACKWOOD
Better half of the man in black above!
Not sure if Moira's support is for the youngsters
or to make sure her own big kid has a place
to play on his bikes. Whatever the reason, her
support is very much appreciated.
COLIN
CAFFREY
Ex Tiger and a huge supporter of the
juniors, especially at Glasgow, Colin has long
been a follower of junior racing and most recently
stepped in both financially and time wise to
help assist young Kieran Morris who was struggling
to get back racing due to his dad Charles' illness.
Always there to offer the right words of encouragement
as well as deliver a swift kick up the backside
when required.
HOW
TO BECOME A CLUB PATRON
Perhaps
the easiest way to help the club and riders
is to become a Club Patron. For a donation of
£100 your name will be added to the 2005
list of Club Patrons and displayed on the club
website. This name can include a short sales
message, or words of support as well as a link
to your website if required.
As
a non-profit making club, we can guarantee that
every penny raised will find it’s way to
the riders in whichever form the club feels would
be most beneficial to their development as a Speedway
racer as well providing opportunities for others
to try out the sport for themselves.
It’s
your chance to forever be linked with every
young rider in Scotland at a time when they
will really appreciate this assistance the most.
